CSignum Features Wireless Water Monitoring Solutions at WWEM 2025

NEC Birmingham 17 -18 September 2025, Stand WW-U36:
CSignum will be presenting its EM-2Q wireless water quality monitoring system to address growing regulatory pressure.

CSignum’s EM-2Q is a transformative, wireless technology for any industry tasked with water quality monitoring.

The EM-2Q solution is purpose-built to ensure easy deployment, maintenance and service and addresses the complexities of monitoring water quality in dynamic environments such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and coastal waters.

“Choosing the best technology for continuous water quality monitoring is a critical challenge water companies face,” said Jonathan Reeves, CEO of CSignum. “We’ve designed our EM-2Q system to address the full deployment lifecycle: ease of placement, secure anchoring, safe retrieval for maintenance, and protection of the data gateway from tampering or disturbance. These practical considerations are just as critical as the sensing technology itself when it comes to delivering a reliable, long-term monitoring solution.”

Following a site survey to assess the best option, CSignum works with the customer to deliver the deployment:

  • Simple deployment means the EM-2Q is seamlessly transmitting data from underwater to a gateway located on land up to 100 metres away.
  • The gateway can be hidden or placed out of reach to protect from damage, vandalism, tampering or floods.
  • The EM-2Q can be anchored at the location and tethered to the water’s edge if required.
  • The integrated buoyancy bag is activated from a mobile app for rapid retrieval or maintenance.
  • Vital data is then wirelessly transmitted over cellular or satellite networks for monitoring and analysis.

CSignum’s customer-centric approach extends beyond its patented wireless technology to the practical realities of field deployment. From minimizing ecological disruption to avoiding large surface infrastructure, the EM‑2Q system is designed with environmental sensitivity and regulatory compliance in mind. Its low-impact, cable-free architecture supports easier permitting, reduces visual intrusion in sensitive areas, and eliminates the need for costly construction or land access agreements. These factors help water utilities and environmental agencies deploy reliable, long-term water quality monitoring systems that meet compliance obligations, while respecting the integrity of the river and surrounding environment.
